Kia is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the Kia PV7 electric van, a larger sibling to the PV5 designed to accommodate up to nine people or substantial cargo loads. Revealed at IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, the PV7 is built on the same E-GMP.S platform as the PV5 but features a considerably stretched body and wheelbase to maximize interior space.

Dimensions, Battery Options, and Range
The Kia PV7 measures over 17.5 feet long (5,350 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height) with a 3,500 mm wheelbase, making it larger than the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Long-Wheelbase. It will be offered with two nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery pack options: 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh. The Long Cargo model delivers an all-electric WLTP range of over 460 km (285 miles). Kia states that even at full capacity, the vehicle achieves nearly 400 km (248 miles) of range while retaining 350 liters of trunk space.
Powertrain, Charging, and Dual Ports
Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard at launch, with an all-wheel drive (AWD) option planned for a later date. The FWD electric powertrain generates up to 268 horsepower (200 kW) and 309 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque depending on the configuration. Utilizing an 800V architecture, the PV7 can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger. It also introduces two charging ports—a front AC/DC port and an optional rear side AC port—alongside vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities to power external devices and equipment.
Passenger and Cargo Configurations
The PV7 will launch in Passenger and Cargo body styles, with plans for 23 different variants over the next few years. The Cargo version provides 2- and 3-seat layouts offering up to 6.1 cubic meters of space, or up to 8 cubic meters in the High Roof variant. Maximum payload reaches up to 1,200 kg for the compact model and up to 1,165 kg for the Cargo Long, which accommodates up to three Euro pallets and features a heavy-duty driving mode for maintaining stability under heavy loads. The Passenger version accommodates up to nine occupants globally, featuring flexible seating configurations such as Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats on 7-seater models.
Practical Takeaway for European Buyers
The Kia PV7 Passenger and Cargo models are scheduled to go on sale in Europe and Korea in the second half of 2027. Pricing details have not yet been announced and will be released closer to the official market launch.
